Company Overview
Hey Clinic Scoliosis & Spine Care is a young, synergistic group of people who serve a wide age range of patients. We treat children and teens with idiopathic scoliosis as well as adults with stenosis and degenerative spinal deformities. We offer conservative treatments including bracing and Schroth physical therapy, as well as surgical care when necessary which can be truly life changing for patients.
As a team, we enjoy serving patients with compassion, excellence and teamwork while consistently trying to exceed our patient's expectations. To achieve this, we budget plenty of time for you to see each patient, which is better for the patient and their family, as well as you!
We are always learning and working to improve our quality of care. We have a state-of-the-art, custom electronic health record system, an excellent support team, including on-site X-Ray, and ample medical assistants and other support staff eager to help. An outcomes research database is integrated with patient care, providing opportunities for clinical research.
Overall, our focus is more on quality, than quantity, which is one reason why over 75 percent of our patients are willing to travel from outside the Triangle to come and see us. Many, in fact, come from out-of-state. We continue to focus on our long-term mission to grow the Hey Clinic as a leading Southeastern center of excellence for spinal deformity treatment.
Company History
Dr. Hey is a former adolescent trauma patient, which motivated him to serve as a doctor who would combine engineering and compassion to serve patients. His training includes MIT, Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program, Harvard Boston Children’s Hospital Pediatric Orthopedic Chief Residency & Fellowship, and Duke Orthopedic/Neurosurgical Fellowship. He then served on faculty at Duke for nearly 10 years before starting Hey Clinic on the Duke Raleigh campus in 2005 to create a center of excellence for patients with spinal deformities of all ages. For over 30 years, he’s pursued a vision for life-long scoliosis and spine care combined with compassion-driven quality and safety improvement and innovation, always seeking to inspire and improve care with a team approach, since every patient is precious and it is always possible to get BETTER!
