Description
ARA Health Specialists, located in the mountains of western North Carolina, is seeking a certified physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join its existing APs. Responsibilities include performing fluoroscopy (including barium studies, myelograms, lumbar punctures, arthrograms, & placement of feeding tubes), CT/Ultrasound directed biopsies (including lung, liver, & thyroid), and other invasive procedures (drainages, chest tube placement). Clinic responsibilities, including pre-procedure and post-procedure assessments, are essential functions of this position. Surgical experience, strong clinical abilities, and effective communication skills are required. Previous radiology experience and NC licensure is preferred. On-the-job training for familiarization with specific procedures will be provided.

Job Requirements:
- BS degree with Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification and fully licensed by the State of North Carolina
- Current CPR Certification
- Excellent telephone and electronic medical record documentation skills
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, dependability, and work independently with little supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively perform job duties
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to be an efficient, cooperative team member
- Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Previous experience (six months or more) as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a vascular surgery clinic/interventional radiology clinic and hospital setting
Please Note: Up to 6 months of on-the-job training is potentially necessary to become proficient in most phases of this position.
